Columbia Chiropractor

Dr. Devin Carr is originally from a farm in Wabash, Indiana. After completing his bachelor’s degree in biology, he moved to Beaufort, South Carolina, where he worked with monkeys and also volunteered as a wrestling coach. He later changed careers and became a high school science teacher, earned his master’s degree from the University of South Carolina, and spent five years teaching in public education while also teaching at USC for seven years. He also served as a head wrestling coach. During that time, he developed a deep interest in optimizing performance, reducing pain, and helping people reach their own goals. That interest ultimately led him to pursue a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. His chiropractic education focused heavily on learning how to identify and adjust vertebrae to optimize the nervous system. When the vertebrae are able to move properly, the nervous system is able to regulate itself more easily, allowing for decreased pain as well as other benefits associated with improved nervous system function.

Dr. Carr also pursued additional training through FAKTR to help calm irritated soft tissue, reduce pain, and support healing, as well as additional training in chiropractic care for expecting mothers during pregnancy. His approach combines chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue work, and corrective exercise to improve movement, performance, and the individual goals of each patient. When appropriate, he also uses EMVITAL light therapy to support tissue healing. EMVITAL works by stimulating the mitochondria and increasing circulation, which can help reduce inflammation and pain. At Soda City Chiropractic, Dr. Carr’s goal is to provide individualized care that helps each patient move better.
