Frequently asked questions

What is chiropractic and what do you treat?

Chiropractic is a field that treats subluxations. "Chiro" comes from the Greek word for "hand." So chiropractic is the practical use of ones hands to treat subluxations.

Subluxations. "Sub" is the latin root for "less than" and "lux" is the latin root for "light." So subluxations are the less than optimal amounts of electricity powering the body.

In other words chiropractors use their hands to aid the body in optimizing the amount of power being transmitted from the brain to the rest of the body.

In chiropractic we believe that when the body is full of subluxations we begin to have common symptoms like headaches, sciatica, back pain, neck pain, you name it.

So the mindset that many chiropractors take is that we are here to help you optimize the power within your body with chiropractic adjustments.

Won't spinal surgery fix my issue?

This is where it gets tricky. You can google, ask chatGPT, or do countless other things in your research. Technology is great because it gives us access to infinite amounts of information but is it true?

Surgeons are going to put you through a protocol to determine if you're eligible for surgery. Your discomfort is real. It is painful. It is valid. It is exhausting not having answers.

Conservative care philosophies will do everything we can to prevent you from having surgery as this will alter the body. Once the surgeon cuts something it will not grow back. If they cut a nerve then the brain is no long able to communicate to that region of your body. Which will give temporary relief until the main issue begins to travel and other nerves become irritate.

That being said sometimes surgery is the fix.
